How long is your worship service?
About an hour.
What do people wear?
Some people like to dress up for worshiping God. Others are very informal, knowing that God accepts them just the way they are.
May I sit anywhere?
Of course. But if you sit in the choir loft, we will expect you to sing.
May we bring children?
We love children. They may stay in worship or attend our Children's Church or Nursery during worship.
Can non-members get married at your church?
Yes, but there are extra fees. You will need to talk to our pastor about this.
What time does your worship service begin?
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10 a.m.
Is your church accessible to the disabled?
We have a ramp and a chair lift.
How is your music program?
Excellent!
Where are you located?
On the Village Square of beautiful downtown Madison.
Where do I park?
Our main parking lot is located behind the building of the Rabbit Run Community Arts Association, at the SE corner of our complex.
Where is your sanctuary?
Our sanctuary is located in the NW portion of our buildings, at the corner of Park and River (Rt. 528) streets.
What are your sacraments?
Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We practice baptism by the sprinkling of water but do accept persons in transfer who have been baptized by immersion. The Lord's Supper or Holy Communion is normally observed on the first Sunday of each month. It is open to all believers in Jesus Christ.
What is your denominational affiliation?
We have been a congregation of the United Church of Christ since 1958. The UCC is a mainline denomination, very similar to that of Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans and Disciples of Christ.
What do you believe?
As with all UCC congregations, Jesus Christ is the head of our church. As our mission statement says: "We are a Christ centered church who proclaims God's love and nurtures spiritual growth and outreach." One of our old denominational slogans explains our beliefs this way: in essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things love.
What are your office hours?
Our church secretary is in 9 to 1 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Our pastor is on call 24/7 by contacting the office.
We are very involved in local, community missions as well as very supportive of national and global missions. Mission is the way we share God's love with our neighbors around the block and around the world.
What else should I know?
If you are a visitor, you need to know that we are a fun church that takes our commitment to Jesus Christ very seriously. When you visit, we hope that you will stay after worship for Coffee Hour in our fellowship hall. This is a great informal time to enjoy some refreshments while getting to know some of our members.
